BC Cycling Coalition - New Board Member
I was recently featured on an episode of the Bike Sense podcast from the BC Cycling Coalition (BCCC), where I discussed the growing role of cycling in community development and tourism across British Columbia. In the podcast, I share stories from my work with BIKEPACKING.com, along with insights from what I’ve been creating through Building Momentum Bikepacking. These experiences continue to reinforce my strong belief that cycling can be a powerful tool for advancing economic development, climate action, health, and equity.
I am a new Board member at BCCC. Through this role, I am committed to advancing active transportation via policy, advocacy, and collaborative leadership. Meaningful systems change requires more than encouraging people to ride bikes; it involves rethinking how we design communities, invest in infrastructure, support local economies, and create spaces that people actually see themselves in.
BCCC plays an important role in this work by providing public education, practical resources, and province-wide programs that help make active transportation a viable option for more people. I’m particularly interested in how cycling can strengthen rural and small-town communities through sustainable tourism and expand equitable access to outdoor recreation.
If you are working on initiatives related to cycling advocacy, active transportation, or systems change in BC, I would love to connect and learn more.
