Active Transportation Summit 2025
I am looking forward to presenting at the Active Transportation Summit in Kimberley on September 10th, alongside my colleagues Isobel Duxfield and Brooke Jones. Our session, “Transportation Justice: Small moves, big changes”, considers the importance of intersectional planning for active transportation. We highlight a few examples of how empowering and honoring the diverse experiences of all enhances safety, climate resilience, and participation.
I will be sharing stories from my new organization: Building Momentum Bikepacking (BMB). BMB is a women and non-binary focused organization empowering historically marginalized riders to use their bikes as tools for healing and transformation.
The Summit is an important space for sharing practical innovations and building partnerships that advance sustainable, accessible transportation solutions across rural, northern, Indigenous, and urban communities in BC. Planning must reflect the diverse experiences of everyone. When planning considers intersectionality, everyone benefits. I can’t wait to learn more from the others at this Summit.
Please say hi if you are at the Summit. Looking forward to seeing new and old faces!
